The NFL Season at a Glance

• August: preseason games, your first look at rookies and new signings.
• September to early January: an 18-week regular season with 17 games per team.
• Thanksgiving and Christmas: holiday games that families plan the day around.
• January: Wild Card weekend, the Divisional round and the conference championships.
• February: the Super Bowl, the most-watched broadcast of the year.

When NFL Games Are On

• Sunday 1:00 p.m. ET: the early window, with several games at once on regional broadcasts.
• Sunday 4:05 and 4:25 p.m. ET: the late window, often the week's marquee matchup.
• Sunday night and Monday night: the primetime national games.
• International games: some Sundays start at 9:30 a.m. ET from London, Germany or other host cities.

Thursday night games stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, and a few holiday games stream on other apps, so they aren't on regular TV channels.

Two Games at Once, Every Sunday

The early window is where a single TV falls short: your team, your fantasy players and the division rival can all kick off at 1 p.m. A plan for 2 or 3 devices puts a second game on a tablet or another TV, and a 5-device plan covers the whole family's teams.

NFL Game-Day Setup

1. 1Restart your streaming device and router on Sunday morning.
2. 2Run the main TV on Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi; the late window is the busiest hour of the week.
3. 3Add the networks that carry your team's games to favorites in your player.
4. 4Check the TV guide on Saturday night so you know where every game you care about is airing.

If a stream stutters at kickoff, switch to the HD version of the channel; it needs less bandwidth than FHD.
